ChatGPT

ChatGPT is an AI chatbot developed by OpenAI, launched in November 2022. It was the product that introduced general-purpose AI conversation to mainstream business users and triggered the current wave of AI adoption. ChatGPT is built on OpenAI's GPT series of large language models.

It is available in free and paid versions (ChatGPT Plus, Team, Enterprise). For most business users, ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini are functionally comparable — the meaningful differences are in specific capabilities, data handling policies, and integration options.
